Made gunlock for Indians before 1812. Very likely in partnership with James (Jas) Golcher in the 1830s. Barrel and lock maker. See also Eagle Rifle/Gun works. Probably identical with Henry Elwell and N (misspelled?) Elwell. Kentucky pistols known marked H. Elwell on lock plates. Henry Elwell is marked on the percussion lock of a rifle by G. W. Harvel & Bros. |
